To get to Gluepot Reserve from Waikerie, cross the 24-hour car ferry,and follow the Taylorville Road for 10 km to the intersection of the Goyder Highway. Turn left onto the Goyder Highway for 3 km until the right hand turn onto Lunn Road. Lunn Road and beyond into the Reserve is about 50 km and is unsealed.

  • Lunn Road is the only route by which you can access Gluepot Reserve. All other ways lead to locked gates. Electronic satellite navigation systems and other mapping services such as Google Maps may lead you astray.
  • If travelling on the Goyder Highway from Morgan, the Lunn Road turnoff is a distance of 31 km.
  • If travelling on the Goyder Highway from Renmark, the Lunn Road turnoff is a distance of 83 km.
  • When dry, tracks are usually suitable for 2WD and medium caravans. After approximately 15 mm of rain they may be closed or affected by water and suitable for 4WD only. Phone 8892 8600 for advice
    after rain.
  • Visitors are advised that they will travel through private property before reaching the Gluepot
    boundary. You should avoid stopping, and under no circumstances camp. Please be aware of the possible presence of kangaroos, cattle, or other feral animals and drive accordingly. All gates should be left as found.
  • There are no fires permitted on Gluepot Reserve, except for gas fires (these may also be banned on a total fire ban days). Pets and firearms are also not permitted.

Cost: $5 per vehicle for a day visit or $15 a night per vehicle to camp. On arrival, members are required to stop at the Visitor Centre to register and pay appropriate fees. Birds SA will not collect any money.
