Would you like to learn more about the birds that visit and live in the Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary?

The Department of Environment, Water & Natural Resources, in conjunction with Birds SA, are running two Bird Identification mornings to help you identify and name some of the shorebirds and water birds seen at St Kilda and the Magazine Road wetlands.

Bird watching is fun, educational and healthy and experienced ornithologists will be present to assist you to develop your bird watching skills and thus obtain the most enjoyment from this past time and hobby.  You will learn about some of the special adaptations and feature that will help you identify birds and gain an insight into why these areas are important for birds.

Binoculars and a Spotting Scope will be provided.

Please wear a shady hat, long-sleeved shirt, trousers, covered in shoes, for your safety. If you apply sun-block, please keep it well away from the eye and cheek area – when using binoculars you need a “sun-block” free area.

If you are interested in attending please contact:- Ian Falkenberg   ian.falkenberg@sa.gov.au

Note the first session on Sunday 12th November, St. Kilda Beach / Foreshore, 8.30am-10.30am.
