Cockatoo LakeWhere is it?: Cockatoo Lake Recreation Reserve is situated on Grubbed Road, Keppoch approximately 19km SSE of Padthaway.

Owner: The Crown and managed by Naracoorte Lucindale Council

Property summary: Total area c. 50 hectares. Hundred of Lochaber – Sections 322, 346 and 347; Hundred of Glenroy – Section 399.  

Natural Resources Management Region: Natural Resources South East

Habitat: Scattered River Red Gum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) are found around the lake. The lake is seasonal and water level is dependent on rainfall.

Total Species Recorded to Date: 66 (non-passerines 42, passerines 24)

Common Species: , Eurasian Coot, Little CorellaLong-billed Corella, Pacific Black Duck, Laughing Kookaburra, Whistling Kite

Less Common Species: Blue-billed Duck, Hardhead, Australasian Darter, Little Grassbird
