Whites Road Wetlands, Globe Derby Park

Where is it?: This small wetland of 10 hectares along Whites Road, Globe Derby Park and is part of the Little Para Linear Trail.

Owner: City of Salisbury.

Landscape Management Region: Green Adelaide

Habitat: There are three constructed ponds of varying sizes adjacent to the Little Para River to help with stormwater drainage.  River red gums (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) have been planted around the ponds in addition to those along the Little Para River.

Total Species Recorded to Date: 137 (non-passerines 93, passerines 44)

Common Species: Chestnut Teal, White-faced Heron,  Black-shouldered Kite,  Red-kneed Dotterel, Black-fronted Dotterel, Crested Pigeon, Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, Australian Reed Warbler

Less Common Species: Nankeen Night Heron, Glossy Ibis, Wood Sandpiper, Latham’s Snipe, Spotless Crake
