Tanunda Wastewater Treatment Ponds

Where is it?: The ponds are 2 km SW of Tanunda and are bounded by the North Para River Archery, Golflinks and Gomersal Roads.

Property summary: Total area = c. 24 hectares. Hundred of Nuriootpa – Allotments 1 and 111.

Landscape Management Region: Northern and Yorke

Habitat: Man made effluent ponds with River Red Gum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) woodlands along the North Para River.

Total Species Recorded to Date: 72 (non-passerines 46, passerines 26)

Common Species: Pink-eared Duck, Pacific Black Duck, Grey Teal, Blue-billed Duck, Hardhead, Hoary-headed Grebe

Less Common Species: Black Swan, Freckled Duck, Musk Duck, Common Sandpiper, Grey Fantail, Australian Reed Warbler
